American wedding, portrait & travel photographer, Emmarie Jackson features a Documentary Style Wedding in Black and White
I had the privilege of photographing William and Angela's wedding in documentary style. My final release to them was in full color, but for the purpose of this blog post, I wanted to give it a black and white touch for a true documentary feel.
They were married at The Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Arlington, TX. Its usually difficult to photograph inside a church. Depending on the church, you can be limited to where you can shoot, if you are allowed to use light (9 out of 10 times, you're not), and how much you can move around. Luckily for me, there was a small walk area behind the altar that I could cross over onto the other side. So, I was able to get different angles of the ceremony. It was a traditional Catholic ceremony followed by a mass. Guests were welcome to have a Holy communion and join in prayer after.Â
Their wedding album was purely candid. With the exception of a very few images that have them both looking at me and family pictures, everything else was shot on the fly. I don't have one single image that was posed. I have to say that my favorite had to be their reception. I loved capturing their details and all the fun and dance.
Here I am sharing some of my favorite images from their wedding day, with the reception held at the Green Oaks Wedding Chapel in Arlington, TX.
